Weather and Emergency Policy: S&K Home Family Daycare prioritizes the safety and well-being of all children and staff. The following procedures apply in the event of inclement weather or emergencies:

  • Weather-Related Closures:

If New York City public schools are closed due to severe weather conditions, S&K Home Family Daycare will also be closed. Parents are encouraged to monitor local news or NYC Department of Education announcements for closure information. Tuition will not be adjusted or refunded for weather-related closures.

  • Emergency Drills:

Fire and safety drills & evacuation practice are conducted on a regular basis in accordance with state and local regulations. These drills ensure that children and staff are familiar with emergency procedures and can respond promptly and safely in the event of an actual emergency.

  • Emergency Contact & Notification Procedures:

Parents or guardians will be notified promptly of any emergency or unplanned closure via phone, text, or email. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure that contact information on file is current and accurate.

In the event of an emergency requiring evacuation or relocation, children will be supervised at all times, and parents will be informed of the location and procedures for pick-up.

Parent Check List:

Parents are responsible for providing their child’s: diapers, a spare set of clothes, and a labeled water bottle. These items should be replenished as needed to ensure the child’s comfort and care throughout the day.

We appreciate your trust in allowing us to be a part of your child’s early development and look forward to supporting their growth every step of the way.
